How we teach
Five methods.
One proven system.

Every S4S session is built on research-backed study techniques, delivered by students who recently mastered the same content.

7×20min
Sessions every week
5 methods
Combined into every session
Yr 6–12
All year levels covered
7 × 20-minute sessions
Every week, your student gets seven focused 20-minute sessions — short enough to stay sharp, frequent enough to build real momentum. All included in one membership.
🧠
Method 01
Active Recall
We make students recall what they've learned — so it sticks.

Passive re-reading doesn't work. Active recall forces the brain to retrieve information, which is where real learning happens.

How → At the end of every session, students explain key ideas from memory to strengthen understanding and retention.
🎯
Method 02
Exam Strategy
We show students how to think in exams — not just study for them.

Knowing the content isn't enough. Students need to manage time, break down questions, and structure answers for maximum marks.

How → Students and tutors work through real assignments together, building structured approaches that translate directly into exam performance.
👥
Method 03
Peer Tutoring
Students learn better from people who just figured it out themselves.

There's a reason a friend's explanation clicks when a teacher's doesn't — they remember what it was like to not understand it yet.

How → All sessions are run by high-performing students teaching others up to 2 years below them — clearer, more relatable, more effective.
🔄
Method 04
Spaced Repetition
We revisit key concepts over time — so learning stays long-term.

Cramming leads to forgetting. Reviewing material at spaced intervals is one of the most researched techniques for long-term retention.

How → Each session begins by reviewing previous topics, reinforcing understanding through consistent, structured repetition.
💡
Method 05
Conceptual Learning
We focus on understanding the "why" — not just the answer.

Students who understand concepts can adapt to any question. Students who memorise answers can only answer the questions they've seen.

How → Tutors break down concepts simply and require students to explain them back, ensuring real understanding — not surface-level familiarity.
